Making Membership Work for You - Part I

    Whether you are a new or seasoned member of the Montebello Chamber, your business or organization will benefit more from membership when you actively engage and make the most of the resources available to you as a member.  In this series of posts, we'll keep you informed about all the ways you can make use of the tools and features of membership to grow your network and business. 

    One of the most widely underestimated and overlooked feature of membership is the Business Listing in our online directory.  If you have a website, you know that it can be a challenge sometimes to see your business' name or website listed in Google or Yahoo search results.  Your business listing on the Chamber website does appear in search engine results--often near the top of the list!--and can help increase your online exposure.  And if you don't have a website, you can use your Chamber directory listing to establish an online home for your business, complete with company name, address and contact information.

    What content can you put in your listing?  Besides your company name, address and phone number, you can also include:

• Links to your website and social media channels including Facebook, Twitter (NEW!), and Instagram (NEW!)
• Name and number of a business representative for a more personal touch
• Directions to your business and where to park
• 200-character description about your business and the products/services you offer
• Business Hours
• Key words to help the users find your listing during a search

• Large title header with your business name
• Your business logo or a thumbnail photo representing you or your business
• Your business listing highlighted above the alphabetical listings of each category or directory search in which your business would normally appear 
• Expanded 1600-character description about your business and products/services you offer
• Media Gallery to host up to 8 photos on your listing page
• YouTube video streaming on your listing page
• "Highlights" section with up to 5 bullet points and web links on your listing page
