Thursday, March 15, 2018The Montebello Unified School District’s Department of Special Education and Career Technical Education educates young adults with disabilities (18-22 years old), in the
development of real-world job skills and independence. They are looking for local businesses to provide opportunities and tasks to further the development of these young people. Work can be done on-site at the business, or off-site, in which the program coordinator can pick up and drop off tasks, such as sorting/collating and mailing preparation, which can be done in the classroom.
Students seek opportunities in Office, Retail, Hospitality, and Recreation.
Currently, students are provided work-based learning opportunities at 99Cent Store, Best Buy, PetCo and the Hilton Garden Inn, where they learn skills and industry standards.
