Beverly Hospital Launches Virtual Tour of Hensel Maternity Center for Expectant Parents

Pregnancy is a special time full of excitement and anticipation. But for expectant mothers facing giving birth during the COVID-19 pandemic, fear, anxiety and uncertainty are clouding this otherwise happy time. The maternity staff at Beverly Hospital know that many expecting moms and their partners have a specific birthing experience in mind and have imagined what it will be like to bring their newborn baby home. During this unprecedented time, many expecting moms and partners wonder how this will affect their birthing experience and their newborn baby.

At this time, it appears that a COVID-19 infection is not severe in most pregnant women. COVID-19 also does not seem to harm unborn babies. However, to help relieve any additional stress to expectant mothers and their partners, Beverly Hospital in Montebello, CA has created a “virtual” tour of its Hansel Maternity Center. The video, which is available in English, Spanish and Chinese, can be found on the hospital’s website at https://www.beverly.org/services/maternity-services/.

This informative video gives expecting parents an overview of the services provided during their stay at the Hansel Maternity Center. Nancy Lee, MSHCM, BSN, NEA-BC - Sr. Vice President, Operations / Chief Nursing Officer at Beverly Hospital states, “The COVID-19 pandemic is temporarily changing the way Beverly Hospital functions and we want you to be aware of how these changes may change your experience at the hospital. Please keep in mind that we have taken these precautions to keep our patients, staff and communities safe and healthy and to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. This video provides an overview of the Hansel Maternity Center so an expectant mother and their partner can learn about what to expect when it’s time to deliver their bundle of joy.”

After viewing the video, prospective parents may register for an on-site informational session with one of the hospital's childbirth educators. To schedule for an on-site session, call (323) 725-5033.
