Beverly Hospital announces the naming of its Emergency Care Center after Mr. Joseph and Dr. Helen Koo, who donated $1M to the Hospital. Dr. Helen Koo, Pediatrician, has been a Beverly Hospital Physician since 1982 and has been caring for the community’s infants and children for nearly 4 decades. The Koo’s contribution will help Beverly Hospital continue to make important improvements to its facilities. These improvements result in a higher level of quality and compassionate care for every patient.
Tuesday, February 4, 2020Vote Yes on Measure H, Urges Montebello Chamber
The City of Montebello is putting Measure H on the March 3rd Special Election ballot. Measure H would increase the city’s current sales tax from 9.5% to 10.25%, which is California’s maximum sales tax. The approval of Measure H would allow Montebello residents to keep their sales tax revenue within the city and obtain funding for responsive emergency divisions, public safety and community programs, and to maintain neighborhoods, streets, and parks.

Students of Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School launched a fundraising campaign on "Giving Tuesday" (December 3rd) to bring bottle filling water stations to their campus. The campaign was highlighted in a video produced by the students citing the bottle-filling water stations as a more eco-friendly alternative to plastic bottled water.

Two seniors at Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) who interned this past summer at the Oak Crest Institute of Science and the Pasadena Biotech Collaborative were honored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at an awards breakfast in City Council chambers on Tuesday, October 29.
