Fireworks Stand Fundraiser for St. Benedict’s Italian Catholic Federation
The St. Benedict's Italian Catholic Federation (“ICF”) and Knights of Columbus will jointly operate a fireworks stand at 228 Beverly Blvd., east of Poplar Avenue, adjacent to Beverly Car Wash in Montebello.
The ICF was established at St. Benedict Church in 1953. You do not need to be Italian to join; Catholics of all cultures are welcome. The ICF annually organize the Feast of St. Joseph’s Table at St. Benedict Church. The funds the ICF raises enables them to support the St. Benedict Church, St. Benedict School, award Phillip Pace Jr. scholarships to St. Benedict School graduates, offer college scholarships to high school graduates, provides monetary donations to vocations to help the education of young men training for the priesthood at St. John’s Seminary, donates to Cooley’s Anemia at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital to support children suffering from Thalassemia, and other programs.
The St. Benedict’s Knights of Columbus, Council 3429, was organized at St. Benedict Church in 1951. The funds the Knights raise help them support the church, award scholarships to St. Benedict School graduates, conduct essay and spelling bees contests for local catholic elementary and intermediate schools, provide food baskets at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to local families in need to help them celebrate the holidays.
