Virtual Town Meeting on completing the 2020 Census!
Message from Congresswoman Linda Sanchez:
As we continue to make progress in California towards slowing the spread of the COVID-19, I want to keep you updated on the federal response to the pandemic. Last week, Congress passed an additional package to deliver aid to small businesses and hospitals, and to expand testing. The bill included:
Additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to help local businesses pay wages and other operating expenses
Much-needed money for hospitals to provide frontline healthcare workers with more resources and protective equipment
Investments in COVID-19 testing, laying the groundwork for a national strategic testing policy
Congress will immediately pivot to the next package, which must include another round of relief for state and local governments. There is certainly more work to be done, and I will continue to advocate on your behalf. I know that many of you have questions on the coronavirus and accessing relief. That’s why I have started holding "Live with Linda" virtual town halls on Facebook to provide updates, share resources, and answer your questions. You can view my recent live videos here and submit your questions through Facebook, Twitter, or my website. Next week, I’ll be holding another virtual town hall on the importance of completing the 2020 Census. I hope you will tune in on Wednesday, May 6 at 3 p.m. PT. Remember that the most important thing we can do right now is to continue social distancing and follow the guidelines set by health care experts. I know this isn’t easy, and many of us wish we could embrace our loved ones again. We will make it through this pandemic, and we will do it together. Lastly, know that my team and I are here to help you. If you need assistance with federal agencies or in response to COVID-19, please call my office at (562) 860-5050 or visit my website.
